The headline news from Monday’s release of the 2026 WSOP schedule is the delay to this summer's Main Event final table.

No dates have been confirmed yet for the biggest final table of the year, but we decided to try to uncover more details from a man who would know – GGPoker pro, Daniel Negreanu.

And he told PokerOrg exclusively that this is not going to be another November Nine.

"I think some of the people who are saying, 'Oh no!'... the hysteria... it's not what you think it is, okay?" Negreanu tells us. "It's not a November Nine. That's not happening."

Negreanu didn’t reveal when the final table will play out, but his comments suggest our initial speculation about an early August spectacular may not be far off.

Daniel Negreanu Negreanu believes the 2026 WSOP will be the best ever for poker fans – and that it will get better every year.

Main Event not behind a paywall

So we know what the WSOP isn't going to do. But can Negreanu shed more light on what the WSOP is going to do?

"What we are going to do is really showcase the Main Event," Negreanu reveals. "No more paywalls. You're getting streams every day, and I think everybody's going to be happy about that. PokerGO's model was dependent on a paywall. But it does hinder some of the showcasing of the game. Now it's going to be out in the open."

Negreanu goes on to say one of GGPoker's first roles with the WSOP has been to make it more accessible to everyone.

"From a fan experience," Negreanu says, "whether you're there as a player or watching, it'll be maybe the best year ever for that, and it's only year one of this format. I think it's going to get better every year."

Negreanu goes on to say that it won't just be one stream every day. "You won't be missing any moments. From what it sounds like, [there will be] multiple feeds, so if there are two events going on at the same time, you'll be able to choose or watch both. The key historical moments that make the WSOP special won't be at a side table nobody knows about. It's going to celebrate the prestige of the bracelet."

The 2026 WSOP starts on May 26 and runs through July 15, with dates for the Main Event final table still to be confirmed.
