Well-known Italian pro and four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Max Pescatori has signed on with King's Resort to serve as its official poker ambassador. King's Resort announced the Pescatori signing via social media on Wednesday.
It's the first such deal offered by Rozvadov, Czech Republic-based King's. The casino, located in the western part of the country, close to its border with Germany, has developed into a near-permanent home for WSOP Europe since it landed the series in 2017. In signing Pescatori, King's Resort owner Leon Tsoukernik opted to go with the higher-profile Italian star, a WSOP Europe regular, rather than choose a more locally-known Czech pro.
"With his great poker skills, fame, and intimate knowledge of the game and the industry," wrote King's Resort. "Max is the perfect ambassador for King's, Europe's leading poker room. He will be at King's in autumn during the WSOP Europe to compete to add another gold bracelet to his accomplishments."
Pescatori boasts lengthy list of poker accomplishments
"The Italian Pirate", as Pescatori is known, has amassed numerous awards and accomplishments during his quarter century in the game. He's perhaps best known for his four bracelet wins at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Pescatori landed his debut bracelet in 2006 in a $2.500 no-limit hold'em event. In 2008, he added more gold in a mixed pot-limit Omaha/hold'em tourney. Then, in 2015, Pescatori joined the much shorter list of players who have won two or more WSOP bracelets in a single year. His two wins that year came in a $1,500 razz tourney and that year's $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship.
More than half of Pescatori's $4.6 million in recorded tourney winnings have come in various WSOP events. The 50-year-old Pescatori has cashed in 66 different WSOP events for nearly $2.7 million. The total includes three cashes in WSOP Europe events at King's Resort.
Pescatori has some noteworthy achievements away from the tables as well. He's co-written two Italian-language poker books in the past. Giocare e vincere a poker online (Play and Win Online Poker) debuted in 2009, while A scuola di poker (A School for Poker) came out in 2010. Pescatori is also well known as one of the co-owners of Poker Hall of Famer Todd Brunson's Italian restaurant in Las Vegas, Roma Deli.
