Kristen Foxen won her second PGT event of the season and her first of the PokerGO Cup for $348,300 in the penultimate tournament of the Tour's first Major of the year at Aria in Las Vegas.
Foxen, who won her first PGT event of the year last month, started near the bottom of the chip counts on Day 2 and an early double through Patrick Leonard put her on the path to holding a dominating chip lead when five-handed play started. It was a lead she never surrendered.
Leonard finished second after a short heads-up battle and Farid Jattin finished third. Erik Seidel entered the final day as chip leader and rounded out the top four finishers.
Foxen flips the script
Seidel and Leonard were the prohibitive favorites when seven players returned to the PokerGO Studio on Wednesday afternoon. Play resumed with blinds at 30K/60K/60K and both players were above two million chips when cards went in the air. Jattin started the day in fourth ahead of David Peters while Eric Wasserson and Foxen made up the short stacks.
An early strike from Peters sent Aido to the bottom of the counts, but a small double through Leonard kept him alive long enough to see Wasserson exit in seventh place.
Six-handed play stretched out, beginning with a Foxen double that took her stack out of red alert. Aido and Leonard kept themselves alive, as well, and Peters was the odd man out after a big clash with Foxen that sent her into the chip lead for good.
Foxen raised to 1.7 million from under the gun with 
and Peters shoved a few more chips from the cutoff with a total of 1.9 million and 
. Foxen called and the runout of 
gave her three fours to bust Peters and his ace-high. The two players entered the hand with the top two chip stacks and Foxen remained with more than half of the betting discs in play.
Smooth finish
From there, Seidel and Leonard survived their runouts and Aido bowed out in fifth when his ace-four was no good against Foxen's suited ace-queen. Seidel followed in fourth when his pocket queens went sour after Jattin paired an ace on the flop.
The dust settled and Foxen held about 70% of the chips in play while Jattin followed in second. Leonard sported the short stack, but an immediate double-up put Jattin on the outs and Foxen finished the job just after the next level clicked over.
Leonard found some life in heads-up play with an early pot, but Foxen went for the hammer with king-jack. Leonard called with a suited ace-nine and a rivered jack gave Foxen the best hand and the tournament victory.

Blair cashes, PokerGO Cup race narrows
Eric Blair picked up 31 PGT points with a 10th-place finish on the heels of his win in Event #6, putting him just 13 points behind Joey Weissman with one event left to play. Texas Mike Moncek remains in the third spot 97 points behind the leader and Foxen debuts in the top five after her victory. Aido rounded out the top five, though he and Foxen need a lot of help to win the PokerGO Cup in the final event on Thursday.
