Partnered Poker, a first-of-its-kind poker mentorship program, has announced a second round of mentorship. The ten-week program begins mid-October and runs through the end of the calendar year.
Partnered Poker, founded in 2024 by PokerOrg Advisory Board member Christina Gollins, Mikha Richards, and Brent Lee, pairs its mentors with mentees to "foster growth and development within the poker community."
If you're interested in applying for the second round of the Partnered Poker mentorship program – as either a mentor or mentee – applications remain open until October 5.
Partnered Poker goes beyond traditional coaching
When you register for the Partnered Poker mentorship program, you first create an online profile and clarify your goals for poker. Then, the Partnered Poker algorithm will pair you with one of its Mentors based on where you are in your poker journey and your goals. Once you've been paired up, you can start regular training sessions and build out a framework for the mentorship.
Partnered Poker isn't a traditional coaching program – it's more focused on building lasting relationships and deeper connections between mentors and mentees rather than strictly poker results or profits.
PokerOrg's own Terrance Reid participated in the first round of Partnered Poker as a Mentor to Carol Su.
"The program offers a few options of mentors and mentees based on skill level, preferred game formats, and other factors relevant," Reid shared. "Mentors and mentees meet about once a week, but are in full control of their training schedule."
"I met with Carol Su about once a week, but she regularly sent me hand histories that we would discuss via text," he continued. "Each time we met, we would discuss 2-3 hand histories. I'd answer questions she had and then I'd introduce one key concept I thought would help her game. I asked her to implement and focus on that concept throughout the week. Then, we'd check back in on how it worked the next meet."
