PokerGO has added its corporate name to the list of entities exploring the NFT (non-fungible token) collectibles space with the launch of its first, or genesis, collection in partnership with NFT Stadium.

The joint announcement from PokerGO and NFT Stadium eschews mention of well-known players or thid-party poker events, at least temporarily sidestepping one of the potential issues that has bogged down some other planned NFT releases, the securing of image rights.

Instead, the new NFT release will serve as a promotional and possible value-added tool for the PokerGO brand. The release will be comprised of 1,326 unique and stylized NFT, each depicting a distinct two-card combination that represents one of the 1,326 possible starting hands in Texas hold'em, poker's most popular variant.

Collectors who purchase one or more of the NFTs will also receive access to various PokerGO rewards, including "VIP event access, free subscriptions, and chances to win pieces of live poker action when their hand appears in winning moments of tournament play."

Token holder rewards also include chances to win signed cards, tournament felts, and other exclusive digital and physical items related to their PokerGO NFT hand, if and when it appears in a winning moment of a PokerGO broadcast or within the service's live or community-based events.

The collection's official launch date will take place in May; more details are available at www.nftstadium.io. Existing PokerGO subscribers to the paid poker-content service will have priority access to the release before sales are opened up to the general NFT collecting public.

“Partnering with PokerGO for NFT Stadium’s debut partner collection launch was an easy decision as PokerGO fans and subscribers have proven to be the most engaged and passionate of any gaming content enterprise,” said Sam Simmons, Consulting Chief Strategy Officer of NFT Stadium, who was also once the President of PokerGO. “This collection offers poker fans a chance to connect with a fandom community and have a shared interest in winning moments past and present including legendary players and the most exciting personalities in the game. They’ll receive exclusive digital and tangible rewards connected to the game they love.”

According to Mori Eskandani, the current President of PokerGO and a Poker Hall of Famer, “We’re thrilled to partner with NFT Stadium to offer poker fans an authentic and immersive experience in a truly new and unique way. As PokerGO showcases the game’s elite players in the world’s most competitive tournaments, our intent is to leverage NFT technology, PokerGO’s unmatched collection of poker content, and NFT Stadium’s development skills and Web3 strategy to create a fan-driven community that gives PokerGO’s most engaged followers a stake in the games and access to exclusive spaces and perks that deliver real value and a fandom experience unavailable anywhere else.”
