Players in US states where PokerStars is regulated and available will have new opportunities to qualify online for upcoming Summer Series live events via PokerStars USA's new Sunset Series. Players can win satellite-qualifier packages for each of three Summer Series events to be held at Live! Philadelphia in the coming weeks.
The just announced Sunset Series begins tomorrow, July 21, and runs through July 31. The online series will contain three special Summer Series satellite qualifiers, as follows:
- July 23: $550 Summer Series Package - $5 Buy-in
- July 28: $1,100 Summer Series Package - $10 Buy-in
- July 30: $2,200 Summer Series Package - $20 Buy-in
The winner of each online-qualifier event receives the following package, according to PokerStars USA:
- Buy-ins to the $550, $1,100, $2,200 tournaments
- $700 expense money
- Hotel accommodation for the winner and a guest in a luxury 5-star hotel
- Other unique experiences during the event
Buy-ins for the online Sunset Series events begin at $5. The "Sunset" tourneys are turbo-format versions of other major PokerStars nighttime tournaments, designed to combat what are often late nights -- or early mornings -- experienced by players. However, PokerStars will also launch new Midnight Express tournaments with boosted guarantees.
The Sunset Series will offer 36 events, with buy-ins from as low as $5. Sunset Editions will be available as versions of the major nighttime tournaments, but with a turbo structure to combat the often-late nights experienced by players. However, for the night owls, special editions of PokerStars Midnight Express tournaments will also be debuting, with boosted guarantees.
