All the way back in 2006, the Sunday Million established itself as PokerStars' standout weekly event on the online poker calendar. And with the celebration of the 19th anniversary of that milestone - including a $6M GTD anniversary edition of the tournament on April 6 - comes a new way for players to chase their shot at glory and a lifechanging payday.
On March 30, PokerStars will host a 'Power Path Express' tournament, a $22 buy-in event at 2:30pm ET that will award at least $50,000 in Power Path Passes. The prizes include at least 80 routes directly into the $6M GTD event on April 6, which has a direct buy-in of $215.
The Power Path Express prizes break down as follows:
- Silver Power Path Passes worth up to $2,500 each for the top five finishers, usable in regional live events and major online tournaments
- $215 tickets directly to the Sunday Million Anniversary for players finishing in places 6-80.
- Bronze Power Passes worth $109 for those placing 81-180.
- $55 ticket to Power Path Step 4 for players finishing 181-375.
“The Sunday Million is poker’s most iconic and prestigious online event and we want to give as many poker players the chance to play as we can” said Steve Clarricoats, Associate Director of Poker Operations at PokerStars.
More ways to qualify into the Sunday Million Anniversary
'Sunday Million Season' is underway across its global liquidity regions (North American markets are not included), with tournament buy-ins ranging from $3.30 all the way up to $1,050 and a total of $18.7 million in guaranteed prize pools through April 8.
There's a Sunday Million Season leaderboard for prizes and trophies, and any player who knocks out a PokerStars Ambassador in any Sunday Million Season tournament gets an instant ticket into the Sunday Million Anniversary.
The PokerStars Sunday Million has awarded $1.4 billion in prizes over the last two decades, and players have a variety of other ways to win their way in. Satellites for the tournament start as low as $2.50.
