ACR Poker and Team Pro Chris Moneymaker have announced the launch of the Moneymaker Mystery Million, a new month-long, multi-flight online tournament set to debut in November. The Moneymaker Mystery Million draws inspiration from the story of its eponymous figure, offering players of all levels a shot at a million-dollar moment.

With a buy-in of $109 and a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000 – plus bounties worth up to $100,000 – the Moneymaker Mystery Million provides plenty of incentive to get in on the action. From November 2 to December 1, ACR Poker will host hundreds of Day 1 starting flights and provide its players with the chance to build up their stacks in pursuit of a deep run. With every knockout along the way, players will win an instant surprise bounty

On December 1, surviving players will return to the virtual felt for Day 2 action and play down to a final table which will resume the following day, December 2.

"ACR is doing fantastic work making poker big. People love to play in big tournaments with big guarantees and big life-changing money – that's what this is offering for a small price point," Moneymaker told PokerOrg. "This is part of the reason I came to ACR, for these opportunities and to give people these opportunities."

Moneymaker's top tips

If you've never played in a multi-flight online tournament or need a refresh on how best to approach a bounty tournament, Moneymaker himself has offered up his top tips for success in his tournament.

"I'm a big proponent of chasing knockouts," he said. "When you look at the payout structures of typical tournaments, they're so top heavy. You make a lot more with knockouts than you would just laddering up slowly."

Moneymaker takes an aggressive stance when it comes to chasing bounties, but he knows that you have to build a big stack to pursue them. "That being said, you have to build a big stack to be able to do that," he continued. "That's one of the critical things to playing in these formats: trying to build up a big stack so you can take shots at bounties that have all this value."

We ask Moneymaker; he asks his wife. Chris Moneymaker favors the aggressive mindset when it comes to bounty formats.

With the multitude of starting flights to choose from, Moneymaker points out that players can take a shot at the event when it suits them and use the schedule to their advantage.

"It's a month-long adventure, if you will. It's every single day across multiple timezones so you can pick basically any time you want to play," Moneymaker said. "If you want to play in a deep field with a bunch of players you can play on the weekends. If you want to play a field that's a little softer maybe you pick a flight late at night."

Moneymaker's best piece advice for success in this tournament?

"Play your normal game. Make a game plan, try to stick to it, and have fun."
