Poker professional and streaming legend Lex Veldhuis has made an investment into his online career by putting together a brand new, state-of-the-art streaming studio. The PokerStars Team Pro provided his fans with an inside look at the building process via a timelapse video.

Along with the advancements to his control of various streaming details (lighting, sound, temperature), the new studio is much closer to his home, which will make it easier for weekday stream sessions. Veldhuis told PokerOrg, "I'll have full control again. I built a box in the garage of a house, and I can access the studio from all sides to plug in new lights and hang stuff from the ceiling. I just have a lot more technical capabilities. It gives a lot more creative freedom, and it's my own, so I can do with it what I want."

"There were a few things that bothered me about the old place," Veldhuis added. "It was an hour and twenty-minute drive, which made it hard to drive back and forth while still having meaningful sessions. I didn't want to stay there overnight because I have two small kids and I want to spend a lot of time at home and be very present. I couldn't play too many daytime sessions because by the time I got there I would only have fix or six hours to play tournaments, and that's just not enough."

Currently, Veldhuis is unable to stream in his own residence as PokerStars withdrew its service in the Netherlands due to a change in the Dutch gaming laws. As a result, for nearly three years, Veldhuis has been forced to commute back and forth to a streaming setup in Belgium. "Before, it was an hour and twenty minutes; now it's only forty minutes," said Veldhuis. "That time is actually pretty huge in terms of being able to go back and forth. It makes an enormous difference when you're doing it two or three times a week."

With the shorter commute time and improved streaming capabilities, Veldhuis can spend more time with his family and more time entertaining you. It's a win-win-win situation.
