The 2025 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is up and running at PokerStars once again for the site’s international player base, and with over 300 events taking place between now and June 2, the schedule can seem a little daunting.
There’s so much going on — so many different variants, formats and buy-ins — that the risk of ‘option paralysis’ is real! That’s why we’ve gone through the upcoming tournaments for this first week of SCOOP to help you identify the tourneys that suit your style, your game and your budget.
Here’s the PokerOrg choice of SCOOP events, up to and including next Sunday, May 18.
Our choice of SCOOP events for low stakes players
One of SCOOP’s defining features is the various stake levels for most events, with equivalent tournaments available at Low, Medium and High buy-ins. This means even players with limited bankrolls can win titles and add their names to the list of SCOOP champions.
If that sounds like you, here’s our pick of SCOOP Low events coming up over the next week.
Want to play a cheap Mystery Bounty tournament with a low buy-in but some big prizes? Check out Event 21-L on May 14, an $11 6-Max no-limit hold’em (NLH) tournament with $75K guaranteed. There’s also Event 32-L on May 15, with the same buy-in, prize pool and mystery bounties, but with 7-Max tables and a turbo structure.
Looking to change it up with some different game variants? We’d recommend Event 30-L on May 15, a 6-Max stud hi-lo tourney with a buy-in of $5.50 and a $7.5K guarantee. Event 37-L on May 17 is a $5.50 5-card pot-limit Omaha (PLO) tournament with $10K guaranteed, and if you’re something of an all-rounder head for Event 35-L on May 17, an $11 8-game mixed tourney with $12.5K guaranteed.
Want to play for the biggest prizes? No-limit hold’em is where the big money is, so look out for Event 27-L on May 15, a 7-Max turbo with a buy-in of $22 and $100K guaranteed. And then of course there’s the Mini Sunday Million, Event 42-L on May 18, which has a $400K guaranteed prize pool for a buy-in of $55.
The week’s best SCOOP events for medium stakes players
If you’ve got a little more room to maneuver in your bankroll, these are the tournaments we think are worth a look.
A big $300K guaranteed prize pool awaits in Event 22-M, a $109 NLH progressive knockout (PKO) tourney on May 14. If PKOs are your thing there’s also Event 33-M on May 15, a PLO 6-Max event with a single re-entry, available for a $109 buy-in and with a $40K guarantee.
For some variety, why not try a no-limit Omaha hi-lo tournament, with Event 23-M on May 14 — a $109 tourney with $40K GTD. Then there’s Event 38-M on May 17, a turbo PKO with just four players per table — perfect for short-handed specialists without a lot of time on their hands. Entry is $55 and the tournament guarantee is a huge $100K.
Speaking of big prizes, don’t sleep on Event 34-M on May 17, a $55 deep-stacked NLH tournament with $125K GTD, as well as the Sunday Million. This week’s edition, Event 42-M, has a $530 buy-in for that big million-dollar guarantee.
SCOOP options for high stakes players
SCOOP always sees a big influx of players to PokerStars, so if you’ve got the bankroll to play some of the larger buy-in events you’re likely to find some big fields and even bigger prizes than usual.
If you like it fast and furious, Event 46-H on May 18 is a NLH 6-Max with a hyper-turbo structure, a buy-in of $530 and $115K GTD.
Tournaments around the $1K mark this week include multiple variants, from NLH (Event 25-H on May 14, a $1,050 turbo with $150K GTD) to PLO8 (Event 43-H on May 18, $1,050 with $100K GTD) to fixed-limit Omaha hi-lo (Event 28-H, $1,050 with $35K GTD). There’s also an 8-game tournament which should attract some big names, with Event 35-H on May 17 ($1,050 buy-in, $40K GTD).
At the bigger end of the buy-ins, there are two $5,200 events worth a look: Event 29-H on May 15 is an 8-Max PKO with $400K GTD, while Event 42-H on May 18 has the same buy-in and guarantee, but is a straight up NLH tourney.
