Doug Polk has "personally guaranteed" the safety of confiscated player funds after the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission raided his Lodge Card Club on Tuesday morning.
The guarantee popped up in a social media spat with Tom Dwan, who responded to Polk's short update on the matter.
"You made a lot of your brand out of going after people in times like this," Dwan said on X. "I hope you can take a minute to reflect, and realize the negatives of some of those choices. Hope you do stuff like that less in the future."
Player funds 'personally guaranteed'
Polk fired back, pledging to guarantee player funds while calling the ongoing investigation a "witch hunt." He also accusing Dwan of "owing tens of millions."
Details are still scarce about the Tuesday morning raid at Lodge Card Club outside of Austin, where Polk shares ownership with Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen, among others. The World Poker Tour subsequently canceled a festival that was scheduled for this weekend and the club still remains closed.
Meanwhile, Polk has said that he will make a longer statement later on Wednesday.
