The World Poker Tour's expanding commitment to hosting major WPT events aboard Virgin Voyages cruise ships will include a new element in 2024, when the WPT and Virgin's Valiant Lady will host the "WPT Voyage," a six-day floating series of poker events including both WPT Tour main event and WPT Prime tourneys.
Overall, the WPT Voyage will guarantee six days of poker action and $1.5 million in prize-pool guarantees. All the action will take place on board the Valiant Lady, beginning on March 31, 2004. The cruise ship will make a brief Bahamas tour while the WPT events are ongoing, visiting Grand Cayman and Bimini before returning to Miami on April 6, 2024.
The Valiant Lady will offer a specially-designed poker facility with more than 80 tables, and the WPT Voyage will center on the $5,000 Main Tour event, with offers a $1,000,000 guarantee. The accompanying $1,100 WPT Prime event has its own $500,000 guarantee. There are numerous side events as well, including a $25,000 High Roller event, a Ladies event, and a new Mystery Bounty event. Cash-game tables will also be provided.
All the action aboard the Valiant Lady next spring is in addition to the already announced "WPT at Sea" poker room aboard the Valiant Lady's sister ship, the Scarlet Lady, which was previously announced. The WPT at Sea poker room on the Scarlet Lady will be offering occasional satellite packages as well for the WPT Main/Prime event aboard the Valiant Lady next spring.
