The record-setting 2023 World Series of Poker Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship reached its "TV final table" of seven players on Saturday evening at the Horseshoe Las Vegas, with Japan's Shiina Okamoto holding a commanding chip lead when the players return on Sunday.

Okamoto (shown above) finished Day 3 with 11,670,000 in chips, nearly half of the total chips in play. Her closest competitor, when action resumes at 2:00 pm PT on Sunday, is American Tara Cain with 4,750,000. Mary Dvorkin, who started Day 3 with the lead, remains in the hunt in third.

The chip stacks of the seven remaining Ladies competitors are as follows:

  1. Shiina Okamoto - 11,670,000
  2. Tara Cain - 4,750,000
  3. Mary Dvorkin - 2,650,000
  4. Tamar Abraham - 2,370,000
  5. Suzanne Malavet - 2,100,000
  6. Chrysi Phiniotis - 1,180,000
  7. Nam Nguyen - 630,000

Jennifer Wu (eighth, $20,160) and Kristie Ogilvie (ninth, $15,662) were credited with making the official nine-player final table but busted before Sunday's live-streamed finale was set.

Okamoto held a huge lead throughout most of Day 3's play as several prominent women's players were bounced from the event. Defending champion Jessica Teusl's run ended in 33rd place, while WSOP Thrill Team member Samantha Abernathy exited soon after, in 31st spot. Other Day 3 bustouts included Nancy Birmbaum (44th), Maria Lampropulus (36th), and Lisa Roberts (24th).
