Feyzullah Okan Karaarslan of Turkey won himself a World Series of Poker Circuit Ring along with €204,053 and a ticket to the WSOPE Main Event (worth €10,350).
The event took place in King's Resort Rozvadov. With most of Europe closed down for the last two years, King's has managed to corner the poker market in Europe hosting events from the WSOPE, EPT, WPT, and WSOPC in the last few months alone. And doing so despite Czechia's current COVID rules.
The 808 players who ponied up the €1,700 buy-in ($1.9k) brought the prize pool up to €1,189,780 ($1.3 million). €204,053 ($230k) of that was earmarked for first place. As well as the first-place finisher, the other top 12 finishers were also awarded a ticket to the WSOPE Main Event along with their cash prizes.
Over two Day 1s and two subsequent days of play, the field narrowed from 808 players down to the final table of nine, including WSOP bracelet winner Simone Andrian.
King's Resort announced the winners, "announcement of the WSOPC Main Event Winner. Our congratulations go to Feyzullah Okan Karaarslan from Turkey who has won WSOP Circuit NLH Main Event Event #14. Okan wins WSOPC Gold Ring & € 204,053 + WSOP Europe main event ticket."
The final hand
The final hand saw Tomovic sitting on about 14 million in chips to Karaaslan's 26 million.
With blinds at 125k-250k and a 125k big blind ante in play, Tomovic looked down at K♦️Q♦️. Karaaslan raised to 650k from the button and Tomovic re-raised to 1.8 million. Karaaslan three-bet to 4.2 million, which Tomovic called, leaving 7.4 million behind.
The flop of K♣9♦️7♣ gave Tomovic top pair with the second-best kicker and outs to back door straights and flushes. Tomovic checked and when Karaaslan put a bet in, he shoved his remaining chips into the middle.
Karaarslan called and turned over the A♣T♣. Any ace or club would put Karaaslan in the lead. The turn was the 6♦️, no help to Karaaslan. In fact, it stole away the A♦️ as an out.
However, the 6♣ was just what Karaaslan needed on the river, giving him a winning flush and the WSOPC Rozvadov Main Event ring.
Tomovic won €127,017 for second place.
