Multi-phase tournament smashes the guarantee as Day 1 flights conclude
One of the most ambitious online tournaments in the history of GGPoker played down to the final nine Sunday, and one of poker’s all-time best looms at the top of the chip counts.
Niklas Astedt leads the pack going into the GGPoker WSOP Super Circuit Online Series final table. Astedt ended Sunday’s Day 2 action with a 75-big-blind stack, and he’ll return as the chip leader when the tournament resumes on Saturday, June 5.
The Super Circuit Online Main Event drew a total of 14,496 entries. The $525 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed tournament ended up with $7,248,000 as the final prize pool.

Astedt already owns one of the game’s most successful resumes in the online poker realm. The Swedish high-stakes pro stands at No. 2 on the all-time online tournament earnings list according to PocketFives.
The PocketFives standings don’t include GGPoker results, but Astedt’s poker acumen translates to that platform as well. Astedt is the all-time money winner in GGPoker’s Super MILLION$ High Roller, a $10,300 buy-in tournament that’s arguably the most prestigious weekly event in online poker.
Astedt stepped down in stakes for the $525 buy-in Super Circuit Main Event, but the prize money at the final table is well within Astedt’s wheelhouse. The winner of the tournament will take home $758,443, as GGPoker aimed for a huge prize pool with the Super Circuit Main Event and succeeded.
Other top players at the June 5 final table will include Yanfei Chi (52 big blinds), Fabian Spielmann (47 big blinds), Patrick Tardif (30 big blinds), and David Miscikowski (14 big blinds).
