Reeves overcomes strong final table competition to notch his second Super MILLION$ win

Luke Reeves looked at a Super MILLION$ final table lineup Tuesday that included three former tournament champions, including himself.

World-class players like former Super MILLION$ champ Ole Schemion, as well as 2020 player of the year contender David Yan, came into the Episode 33 final nine ahead of Reeves in the chip counts. Mike Watson, Daniel Dvoress, Eelis Parssinen, and Connor Drinan also took seats at what could be considered the toughest Super MILLION$ final table yet.

At the end of play among that minefield of world-class players, it was Reeves coming away with the title of “two-time Super MILLION$ champion.” Reeves emerged on top of a field of 202 entries, winning Super MILLION$ Episode 33 for a $408,406 payday.

The $10,300 Super MILLION$ High Roller plays as possibly the world’s most prestigious weekly online tournament at GGPoker. Reeves entered final table play in fifth place in the chip counts among the final nine and came from the middle of the pack to score an eventual victory.

Reeves outlasted Yan ($314,924) in heads-up play, denying Yan his first Super MILLION$ title.

Reeves scores second career Super MILLION$ win

Reeves’ Episode 33 appearance marks the 15th time the English high-stakes regular has entered the Super MILLION$. Reeves has cashed three times in those 15 attempts, with two of those cashes resulting in victory.

Reeves scored his previous Super MILLION$ win playing under the ‘Xingyun888’ screen name.

Yan made his deepest Super MILLION$ run to date, and now has three final table appearances in the 33-week history of the tournament. Yan previously finished fifth in the Super MILLION$ on two separate occasions.

Dvoress (3rd - $242,839) also notched his highest Super MILLION$ finish in his fourth final table appearance. His third-place finish now puts Dvoress’ career GGPoker tournament earnings at just under the $5.8 million mark.

All three of the fourth through sixth place finishers represent some of the game’s elite tournament players.

Mike Watson (4th - $187,255) added to a resume that includes more than $12 million in live earnings, and nearly $7 million in online cashes outside of GGPoker. Tuesday’s fourth-place finish pushed Watson’s GGPoker earnings over the $3.6 million mark.

Other top finishers included big names like Schemion (5th - $144,393) and Parssinen (6th - $11,342).

Melker Larsson (7th - $85,856) came into Tuesday’s action as the final table chip leader but came away with a seventh-place finish. ‘WanYu’ (8th - $66,204) and Drinan (9th - $51,050) rounded out the final nine.
