The World Poker Tour's Alpha8 Trifecta of $25,000 NLH high-roller tournaments, held at Wynn Las Vegas as a component of the Wynn Summer Classic, has concluded with New Jersey native David Coleman capturing the third and final leg for $730,000 and the first WPT title of his career.

Coleman triumphed over a 117-entry field in Trifecta #3, which was the largest turnout of the three events that were staggered on a once-per-week basis. The payday was the largest of Coleman's live career, pushing him over the $6.2 million mark in recorded live-tourney winnings.

Coleman's first major live win came at the expense of Russia's Nikita Kuznetsov, who settled for $480,000, while Canada's Martin Raus finished third for $355,000. All three of the top finishers also placed among the top eight spots on the Alpha8 Trifecta's leaderboard, thereby winning $10,400 seats into the 2024 WPT World Championship later this year.

The final-table finishers in WPT Alpha8 Trifecta #3 were as follows:

  1. David Coleman - $730,300
  2. Nikita Kuznetsov – $480,000
  3. Martin Raus – $355,000
  4. Andrew Lichtenberger – $265,000
  5. John Pannucci – $200,000
  6. Roman Hrabec – $154,000
  7. Pavel Plesuv – $118,000
  8. Isaac Haxton – $92,000

Coleman clinches top leaderboard spot

The 16 Alpha8 leaderboard points Coleman earned in Trifecta #3 gave him 29 total points over the three events, based on in-the-money and top-position finishes. Coleman just edged out Trifecta #2 winner Danny Sepiol's 28 points, while Kuznetsov amassed 24 leaderpoints without a win to finish third, Brock Wilson's sole points-earning finish, his victory in Trifecta #1, was still good for fourth on the leaderboard.

These top eight finishers each earned seats into December's WPT World Championship event:

  1. David Coleman – 29 points
  2. Danny Sepiol – 28 points
  3. Nikita Kuznetsov – 24 points
  4. Brock Wilson – 16 points
  5. Jonathan Cohen – 14 points
  6. Seth Gottlieb – 14 points
  7. Martin Raus – 12 points
  8. Mikita Badziakouski – 12 points
