Event #24 of the 2021 WSOP is the $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack (8-Handed) tournament. This two-day event had 30-minute blind levels throughout, and allowed one re-entry during the registration period. It started on October 12, wrapping up on October 13, with Michael Prendergast winning his first bracelet.

The event attracted 1,572 entries on Day 1. That built a prize pool of $801,720 after the 15% rake was subtracted . There was $127,428 up top for first place.

On Day 1, the field narrowed to 68 players. Some of the Omaha specialists who railed that day were Maria Ho, Lief Force, Shaun Deeb, Greg Raymer, Shannon Shorr, Barry Greenstein, David Williams, and actor James Woods.

Players started play with 30,000 in chips and blinds at 100-100, plus a big-blind ante of 100. The big blind was 2,400 at the end of Day 1, giving UTG the choice of a pot-sized bet of 8,400. Despite the “deepstack” name, the high-variance and fast blind levels of Omaha made this tourney played more like a turbo.

The $600 PLO Deepstack tournament had 2,577 entries in 2019 to create a total prize pool of $1,352,925. Andrew Donabedian earned the biggest share of that prize pool with his $205,605 first-place score as well as his first WSOP gold bracelet. This event ran an extra day in 2019 due to the massive player pool.
