Event #44 of the 2021 WSOP is the $3,000 6-Handed Limit Hold’em tournament. This three-day event started on October 22 with 60-minute levels for all three days. Players began with a 40,000 chip starting stack.

The bracelet for this event went to Ryan Hansen. He won after an extended heads-up fight (is there any other kind in limit hold'em?) against Kosei Ichinose. Hansen came away with a bracelet and $109,692 for his first-place finish. Ichinose cashed for $67,796 and second place.

There aren't many players who sign up for $3,000 limit hold'em events. When you add in six-handed play, even less players will show up. In the end, only 162 players ponied up for the buy-in, creating a prize pool of $432,540.

On Day 1 of the event, the fallen included Daniel Negreanu, Dan Zack, Frank Kessela, Phil Hellmuth, Ryan Leng, Maria Ho, and Beverly Hills lawyer Eric Bensamochan. That poker-playing litigator recently scored a big win when he defended Todd Witteles against Mike Postle’s lawsuit.

Stephanie Dao outlasted a field of 193 entries to win the $3,000 6-Handed Limit Hold’em event in 2019. Dao won her first WSOP gold bracelet and the tournament’s top prize of $133,189 out of a total prize pool of $521,100. Her victory came less than three weeks after she finished in fourth place in the 2019 LADIES No-Limit Hold’em event.
