The World Poker Tour has announced the addition of several gatherings and events in support of the 2023 WPT Ladies Championship, which will run in early December as part of the 2023 WPT World Championship festival at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

The WPT Ladies Championship, which debuted in 2022, returns December 6-8, 2023, at the Wynn. The $1,100 event attracted 578 entrants last year to quickly establish itself as one of the largest ladies poker events in history, and the WPT hopes for an even larger turnout next month.

The final table of the Ladies Championship on December 8 has already been included in the 14 days of live-streamed action scheduled to be broadcast from the Wynn, adding even more interest to the event. And with several supporting elements now in place, the Ladies Championship appears poised for a record-setting run.

Kerstetter's Mimosa MUG, viewing party, Milestone Satellite event added

Three gatherings of different types have been scheduled during and preceding the WPT Ladies Championship to help generate additional interest. Popular poker pro and commentator Jaime Kerstetter will return to host another MUG (Meet-Up Game) for women, this year called the Ladies Mimosa MUG.

Kerstetter hosted a similar ladies-only cash game during the 2022 festivities, with 150 players in attendance. This year's MUG promises an even larger turnout, and it will be held in the Wynn Poker Room from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on December 8, in advance of that day's Ladies Championship final table. According to the WPT, 19 splash-pot prizes will be awarded during the cash-game play, ranging from gift bags to $1,100 WPT Prime seats.

Last year's debut of the WPT Ladies Championship makes a return this year as well. On December 7, Day 2 of this year's chmpionship, a viewing party of last year's Ladies Championship -- four episodes in all -- will be held in the WPT VIP Passport Lounge at the Wynn. The viewing party is an invitation-only event for selected members of Poker League of Nations (PLON), Poker Power, Women’s Poker Association (WPA) and Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF). However, with many would-be invitees likely to still be in action in the Ladies Event, invitations to the viewing party may be obtainable through one's networking connections.

The latest addition to the framework supporting the 2023 WPT Ladies Championship is a just-announced satellite into the championship. In response to player demand for such a satellite, WPT Vice President Angelica Hael-Yildiz revealed a special $200 sattie to be held at 6 p.m. on December 5 at the Wynn. Ten seats are guaranteed into the championship that begins the following day.
