Big-name eliminations

Viktor Blom fired twice on Day 1A of Event 1 but couldn't get one to stick. Viktor Blom fired twice on Day 1A of Event 1 but couldn't get one to stick.

Many big names dropped tonight. They could all be back on Days 1B and C.

  • Viktor Blom
  • Jonathan Little
  • Jamie Gold
  • Kasey Lyn Mills
  • Chris Moorman
  • Benny Glaser
  • Shannon Shorr
  • Chris Hunichen
  • Ryan Riess
  • Espen Jorstad

Terrance 'TJ' Reid also busted his first bullet late on.

"I was card dead for a few levels, then lost an 18bb flip with AQ," TJ told us. "I was left with 15bbs. HJ opened to 8K, I shoved 66 in the cutoff for 60K, he snapped with AA and held through KQ37K."

TJ opted not to max-late-reg, but if you drafted him, he will fire again tomorrow.

Top 10 stacks at the break

Shaun Deeb is building a big stack in Event #1 at Paradise. Shaun Deeb is building a big stack in Event #1 at Paradise.

Jason Sagle has taken over the Day 1A chip lead after 12 levels, with Shaun Deeb in his slipstream. Late reg is now shut with 218 players left from a total of 761 entries. The plan is to play down to just 10% of the field.

Top 10 stacks

  1. Jason Sagle: 556,000
  2. Peter Tran: 422,000
  3. Luigi Soncin: 422,000
  4. Johnny Bromberg: 407,000
  5. Vito Abramov: 405,000

Main Event champ in the house

The 2025 Main Event champ Michael Mizrachi got his chips in on his very first hand, but it didn't go his way.

Thank the lord for unlimited entries. He fired again and has now built his stack up to 200K or almost 50 big blinds.

Other big names are in too, with Shaun Deeb holding a top-ten stack and Chino Rheem joining the fun.

Dinner break in Event #1

Mark Darner Mark Darner leading the Pick 3 players to dinner.
Omar Sader

Vito Abramov leads the way at the dinner break, and he wasn't on the Pick 3 draft. Luckily, the other four players rounding out the top 5 were.

335 players remain from 656 total entries, with the top 15% making the money and the top 10% progressing to Day 2.

It's a best stack plays tournament, though, so players bagging short stacks are free to try again on day 1B or 1C.
