The Borgata Poker Open Powered by BetMGM is set for its annual return to the Event Center at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The 2024 edition of the Borgata's longest-running poker festival begins on September 3, the day after the US's Labor Day holiday, and runs for 15 days through September 17.
This year's Borgata Poker Open will offer 30 total events plus 33 live qualifiers. The 30-event schedule includes four tourneys that are designated as 'anchor' events, which alone will offer a combined $4 million in prize-pool guarantees. Registration for the series is also available online via BetMGM Poker.
The four anchor events are separate from the rest of the BPO in that they are also directly supported by online qualifiers, which are exclusively available on BetMGM Poker. The online qualifiers award Borgata Poker Open travel packages to the winners and are available for these events:
- $800 Kick Off Deep Stack | $1,000,000 GTD (live event begins Sep. 3)
- $500 Mirror Mystery Bounty | $500,000 GTD (live event begins Sep. 8)
- $500 Almighty Million | $1,000,000 GTD (live event begins Sep. 17)
- $3,500 Borgata Poker Open Championship | $1,500,000 GTD (live event begins Sep. 25)
The seat packages also include a travel credit and BPO-branded merchandise.
BetMGM Poker to host two events
The connections to BetMGM Poker include more than just the online satellites, as two BPO events will be hosted by BetMGM, including an online/live hybrid tourney where most of the action takes place on BetMGM Poker and the final table plays out live at the Borgata. This $150,000 guaranteed event begins on September 8 on BetMGM Poker, with the live finale at the Borgata on September 14.
BetMGM will also host the 'King of Poker' Progressive Bounty Shootout, which begins on September 12. This event is notable in that the Borgata and BetMGM have invited several podcast hosts and former MLB players to participate in the fun.
The Borgata Poker Open features an exceptionally wide variety of poker variants and formats, too. with nine of the first 21 events being mixed-games events that will count toward a special mixed-game mini leaderboard during the series. Ladies and seniors events are also part of the series. The complete series schedule, including live satellites, is already available.
