Following last week’s 18th anniversary edition of PokerStars’ Sunday Million with $8m GTD, this Sunday marks the birthday of another major weekly tourney.
The Sunday Storm is turning 13 on April 14, with a $500k guarantee awaiting those who turn up to the party.
The Storm is the younger sibling of the Sunday Million, running weekly just like the SM but with a cheaper buy-in that makes it an achievable big-field tournament for those players not bankrolled to play the milly.
The anniversary Sunday Storm will feature its regular buy-in of $11, with a huge $500k guaranteed and a trophy for the winner. It will also award double points for the Sunday Million Season Player of the Series leaderboard, and those players making the final table will all receive entries to the Season Finale tournament. The Storm begins at 2.05pm ET.
Ambassadors’ games lined up for next week
The anniversary editions of the Sunday Million and Sunday Storm each form part of PokerStars’ Sunday Million Season. As part of the season a number of tournaments will run next week, hosted by PokerStars ambassadors who will each have special bounties on their heads. Here are the details (all times ET):
- April 16 at 1.05pm: Fintan Hand’s Progressive KO, $5.50 buy-in with $25k GTD
- April 17 at 1.05pm: Spraggy’s Mystery Bounty, $11 buy-in with $70k GTD
- April 18 at 4.05pm: Parker Talbot’s Mystery Bounty, $55 buy-in with $150k GTD
- April 19 at 4.05pm: Rafael Moraes’ Progressive KO, $5.50 buy-in with $20k GTD
Eliminate the tournament host to win entry to the Sunday Million Season Finale, a $109 tournament running at 1.05pm on April 21 with $1.5m guaranteed.
