The owner of two big downtown Las Vegas properties is going all in to help Sin City recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by giving away 1,000 free flights from 24 major cities in the United States. Derek Stevens recently announced that he’s giving away free flights to bring poker players back to the strip. Stevens own The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.
“As we begin to reopen our doors across the city, we are proud to help reinvigorate travel to Las Vegas while supporting airlines in America impacted by the COVID-19 crisis,” said casino owner Derek Stevens. “While we’d love for visitors to stop by Downtown Las Vegas, we primarily want to get people back to Las Vegas to experience the attractions and amenities that make it one of the greatest places on Earth.”
The move comes at a time when the state is slowly getting ready to reopen in one week’s time. Casinos in Nevada have been shuttered since the COVID-19 pandemic forced a statewide closure of non-essential services.
Many casinos are launching campaigns to make the distinctly different post-pandemic Las Vegas experience more attractive, including free parking, no resort fees, and discounts. But the Keep America Flying campaign goes one step further by handing out free flights.
