Menard posts second six-figure cash this week with the victory
Kyle Menard continued a week of big scores on the GGPoker network, coming away with a six-figure payday for the second time in a four-day span. Menard's latest big run came in the High Rollers Week $10,300 Super MILLION$, which saw the player lock in the win and a $628,892 payout.
The GGPoker Super MILLION$ High Roller has emerged as must-see content for the poker community, as the weekly $10,300 buy-in tournament guarantees $1.5 million and plays out with cards-up streaming coverage on the GGPoker.TV each Tuesday.
This week's Super MILLION$ saw the prize pool upped to $3 million, and took place as Event #2 in the GGPoker High Rollers Week series. In line with previous editions of the Super MILLION$, the High Rollers Week edition of the tournament brought out a loaded field and produced a final table full of some of poker's best.
Menard outdueled Finland's Eelis Parssinen in the final heads-up battle, which lasted just three hands. Parssinen (2nd - $ 472,222) took home his biggest ever GGPoker score with the second-place finish.
Heads-up action
The final hand of the tournament began with Menard and Parssinen almost even in chips, with the blinds at 150,000/300,000. Menard opened to 750,000 with Q♠J♦️, and got a call from Parssinen with Q♦️7♠.
Both players hit top pair on the 9♣Q❤️6♠ flop, and Parssinen check-called a bet for 785,000. The 4♠ hit on the turn, and Parssinen once again check-called, this time for 3,140,000.
The river fell 3♣, Parssinen checked for a third time, and Menard shoved, having his opponent covered. Parssinen called off his remaining 8,839,000, but saw his top pair outkicked by Menard's queen-jack.
Menard's $628,892 payday adds to an already successful week on GGPoker. Menard finished third Sunday in the Battle of Malta $5,250 High Roller Championship for $235,088.
Other top finishers
Canada's Philippe D'Auteuil (3rd - $354,582) came away with his best-ever showing at the Super MILLION$. A regular in the weekly High Roller event, D'Auteuil's third-place run marked his fourth Super MILLION$ final table appearance, and qualified for the High Roller Week edition of the event through a $100 satellite.
Daniel Colpoys (4th - $266,248) earned his best Super MILLION$ finish to date, cashing for the third time in 11 appearances in the tournament. The Canadian Colpoys went over the $1.3 million mark in GGPoker earnings with the fourth-place showing.
All-time poker tournament great Timothy Adams (5th - $199,020) finally broke through with his first Super MILLION$ final table appearance. This week's tournament marked the 19th Super MILLION$ Adams has played, and proved to finally be the one that saw the high-stakes fixture advance to the final nine.
Adams stands at No. 20 on the Hendon Mob all-time live tournament earnings list, with $24,330,801 in cashes. The Canadian bowed out at the hands of Colpoys, setting up the final four players to battle it out for the title.
