Richards didn't know that the event she entered on Global Poker offered such a large prize for first place - until she won it, that is. The package includes a $5,000 luxury trip to Las Vegas, including a photo shoot at the PokerGO Studio, a Global Poker trophy, and a bonus check of $5,000.
Richards told PokerOrg's Alexandra Loveless that the package will help with the World Series of Poker schedule that she has already built out. In particular, the money will go towards Richards' first-ever Main Event buy-in.
Richards continued, telling Loveless that she's never been in a better place in terms of her poker knowledge while crediting the Pocket Queens study group and her own private study group for helping her to feel ready for a step up. Within Pocket Queens, Richards has set up a mentor-mentee program to provide further assistance to women wanting to embrace the game of poker in a bigger way. Thus far, she has connected twenty-seven women to mentors from the community and continues to serve as a mentor herself.
