Mini Online Super Series wraps up with $500,000 prize pool Main Event
The Mini Online Super Series on the Winning Poker Network ended with its $55 buy-in Main Event drawing 10,000 players, and far exceeding the prize pool guarantee,
'MindofMentality' took down MOSS #75 - Main Event, coming away with the win from a field of 10,000 overall entries for a $47,500 payday. The Main Event drew the largest number of entries and yielded the highest overall prize pool of any tournament in the MOSS.
The MOSS schedule featured 83 events, culminating in Sunday's $55 Main Event. The Main Event originally offered a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool, but that number was far exceeded as the tournament hit maximum capacity.
'MindofMentality' played through nearly nine hours of action in the one-day tournament, which took place Sunday. The tournament champion finished as one of four players earning a five-figure Main Event payday.
Other top finishers included 'Payday807', who took home $28,500 for second place. Third-place finisher 'ParTeee' earned $18,700, and fourth-place finisher 'ActionJaction26' earned $12,500.
The 10,000-entry field yielded 1,485 money finishers, each of which earned at least a min-cash of $90.
MOSS features 83 events in seven days
The MOSS represented the first leg of the Online Super Series Cub3d X, which runs throughout August on WPN. The overall series features three different legs, with the MOSS offering low-stakes events.
Overall, the OSS Cub3d X schedule is set to award at least $15 million in overall prize money, including a pair of $1 million guaranteed events. The $55 buy-in MOSS Main Event produced its share of that $15 million by ending up with the $500,000 final prize pool.
Sunday's portion of the MOSS saw some of the biggest player turnout for the series. Other events that drew big attendance included MOSS #70, a $6.60 buy-in event that ended up with 6,516 entries.
The MOSS #70 $30,000 guarantee was well exceeded, finishing at $39,906. 'Chipandhcop' finished with the tournament win and the $4,168 grand prize.
MOSS #73 - $50,000 Guaranteed Sunday Special attracted 5,032 total entries, pushing the total prize pool to $75,480. The championship and winner's share of $8,457 went to 'CmeWin2911' after eight-and-a-half hours of play.
First leg of OSS Cub3d X finishes
The Mini Online Super Series portion of the OSS Cub3d X offered more than $1 million guaranteed over the 83-even schedule, with actual prize money awarded in MOSS events going well over those guarantees in several events.
The month-long OSS schedule now turns to the second leg of the series. The Online Super Series runs from August 10-23, with Monday's action kicking off with OSS #1.
OSS #1 runs as an $88 buy-in event with an $80,000 guaranteed prize pool. Other highlights coming up this week include Tuesday's OSS #13 $100,000 Guaranteed 8-Max, a $1,050 buy-in tournament.
Wednesday's OSS schedule starts to get into six-figure guaranteed prize pools. The highest buy-in tournament from the OSS leg of the series, OSS #27 $200,000 Guaranteed Super High Roller, kicks off Wednesday night as a $5,150 buy-in event.
At least two more guaranteed six-figure prize pool events take place Sunday, August 16. OSS #61 - $250,000 Sunday Special comes at a $215 buy-in, while OSS #62 - $150,000 Guaranteed 8-Max, offers a $55 buy-in.
Satellites to many of the tournaments on the OSS schedule run throughout the week on WPN.
