After eight levels of play, only 678 still remain. They've put their chips in bags and have the night with their dreams of winning this marquee event intact.
Up on top of the leaderboard sit two players, Chris Moorman and Tony Tran, both with stacks of 356,000, bring 237 big blinds to battle on Day 2 tomorrow.
This is a freezeout event, so those that busted will have to sit on the sidelines from here on out. Some of the most notable busts included Johan Guilbert, Chino Rheem, Kevin Rabichow, Arden Cho, Stephen Song, Ian Matakis, Chad Eveslage, Joe Mckeehen, Shaun Deeb, Faraz Jaka, Vanessa Kade, Stephen Chidwick, Ethan 'Rampage' Yau, Jason Mercier, Matt Affleck, PokerStars Ambassador Lex Veldhuis, and professional podcaster Conrad Simpson. They'll have to find other ways to fill their schedule on the beautiful island.
There are plenty of big names left in the star-studded field. Josh Arieh bagged an impressive 312,500. Behind him were Martin Zamani (287,000), Eric Afriat (250,000), Dario Sammartino (239,500), Sean Winter (233,500), and Fedor Holz (215,500), and Paulina Loeliger (205,000). PokerStars Ambassadors Alejandro Lococo (204,000), Sam Grafton (72,500), Jennifer Shahade (69,500), and Benjamin Spraggs (62,500 all also found bags. Fan favorite Alexandra Botez played much of the day on the feature table and bagged 39,000 at the end of the night.
