Mystery Bounty tournaments have dominated the online and live poker realms since they arrived on the scene over the last few years. The thrill of an unknown, potentially life-changing bounty coming your way has captured the poker community's attention in a big way. Now, WPT Global joins the ever-growing list of online providers spreading tournaments in the Mystery Bounty format.
The site introduces its Mystery Bounty slate alongside the unveiling of its largest-ever prize pool for the upcoming Fall Festival in September, with $8.5M guaranteed across the series schedule.
Mystery Bounty tournaments on WPT Global operate in standard fashion. In the Beginning Phase, you try your best to build up a stack without worrying about the bounty rewards. Then, the Bounty Phase kicks in when the money bubble bursts and, from that point onwards, each elimination awards you a Mystery Chest containing an unknown amount of money.
Pulling mystery bounty prizes adds an extra element of excitement, whether live or online.
If you're lucky (or good) enough, you can win multiple Mystery Chests in a single hand and, in the case of split pots, share the bounty prize with another player. The Mystery Bounty pop-out feature allows you to track the distribution of bounties across the event, adding yet another layer of strategy and excitement.
These events are now live on WPT Global and their popularity is already evident. For example, the $55 Lucky PKO $30,000 GTD was changed to a Mystery Bounty format this past Sunday, and broke its entry record by over 130, reaching a total of 771 entrants by the end of late registration.
$8.5M GTD Fall Festival is the site's biggest ever
WPT Global's Fall Festival will run from September 8-30 and the $8.5M series guarantee represents the biggest prize pool on the site to date, topping the Summer Festival's guarantee of $8M. The Fall Festival tournament schedule comes jam-packed with an array of events for you to choose from.
Mystery Bounty tournaments will feature heavily throughout the series, with $3M in total guarantees that includes a new daily $110 buy-in event with a $40K guarantee. Both the $55 Lucky ($30K GTD) and $110 Nightly Slam ($27.5K GTD) events have been transitioned into the Mystery Bounty format.
The site's flagship events — the $3,500 WPT Championship ($1M GTD), $1,060 WPT Prime ($750K GTD), and $530 WPT500 ($400K GTD) — will all make a return to the schedule, offering you a chance at massive prize pools and significant rewards. Additionally, WPT Global will provide further value with a $50K freeroll for players that compete in the Fall Festival.
These exciting updates, coupled with the introduction of the Mystery Bounty format, prove WPT Global's commitment to boosting the online poker experience. As a result, the Fall Festival promises to be a thrilling series, packed with opportunities for you to win life-changing amounts of money and become a WPT Champion.
