Another week, another loaded final table for the GGPoker Super MILLION$ High Roller. The $10,300 buy-in tournament has been giving the poker community a star-studded lineup to look forward to every Tuesday when the final table for the weekly tournament plays out.
French tournament regular Sebastien Grax emerged victorious in this week's edition of the tournament, taking down a $321,949 first-place prize in the process. Grax outlasted Christian Rudolph (2nd - $249,704) in the heads-up battle for the championship.
The win comes as the latest triumph in what's been a big year for Grax on GGPoker. Grax finished third for a $236,188 cash prize in the GGMasters WSOP High Roller Edition Freezout bracelet event in August.
This week's tournament drew 153 total entries, with the final table playing out on the GGPoker YouTube and Twitch channel.
Heads-up action
The Super MILLION$ High Roller didn't disappoint this week, with another intriguing lineup of final table finishers. The second-place finish for Rudolph adds to a resume that includes a victory in the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events $25k Poker Players Championship. The online version of one of the most prestigious titles in the tournament poker world earned Rudolph a $1,812,290 payout.
Rudolph went into heads-up play against Grax at a nearly three-to-one chip disadvantage, but both of the final two players held the lead at times during the final battle. Grax took a commanding 11.7 million to 3.6 million lead over Rudolph with a big hero call while the blinds were at 80,000/160,000.
That hand started with Rudolph limping with T❤️5♦️ and getting a check back from Grax with Q♠9♦️. Grax then check-called a 352,000 bet from Rudolph on the 8♦️9♣J♦️ flop.
The turn came 4♣, Grax checked, and Rudolph put in a 1.5x overbet for 1,568,000. Grax made the call. The river fell A♦️, Grax checked again, and Rudolph put his opponent to the test with a 4.2 million bet, enough to make Grax commit the remainder of his stack if he made the call.
After tanking for several moments, Grax made the call and saw that his third pair was good. The cards-up stream of the match went down after that, but at some point in the 20 minutes following that hand, Grax finished off the tournament with a win.
Loaded final table lineup
Niklas Astedt (7th - $70,085) made it to the final table for the second straight week, following up on a second-place finish in last week's tournament. Astedt's resume includes more than $21 million in online tournament earnings according to the PocketFives database, and that figure doesn't even count GGPoker results.
Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Elio Fox (6th - $90,361) started final table play with the chip lead but had to settle for a seventh-place finish. Tuesday's result marked the sixth time Fox has cashed in the Super MILLION$ High Roller, and the $90,361 payday marks his best showing to date in the weekly tournament.
GGPoker Ambassador Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier (5th - $116,505) made his second final table appearance in a Super MILLION$ High Roller, and the six-figure payday represents his best-ever finish in the tournament.
Other top finishers included 'Gr4vyB04t' (4th, $150,212) and 'rebuyguy' (3rd - $193,671).
