If you can’t make it to the 2025 World Series of Poker this summer, you can still get in on the action with a sweat from one of the game’s biggest stars.
Daniel Negreanu is selling 25% of his $2,000,000 stake this summer, with no mark-up via the staking platform PokerStake. If you don't know what mark-up is, it's a surcharge added to the cost of buying a piece of a player because, as PokerOrg’s Lee Jones puts it in our Glossary: “90% of poker players think they’re better than 90% of the other players.”
In Negreanu's case, the mark-up would be fully justified. He has over $55 million in career earnings and has won seven WSOP bracelets, including the $50K Poker Players Championship last summer. However, he's doing this for the fans, not because he needs the money.
The ultimate WSOP sweat
The 25% he’s offering covers “ANY WSOP event that Daniel participates in for the ENTIRE WSOP,” according to the listing. There's a cap of $1,000 to ensure that as many fans can buy a piece as possible, but we imagine it will still go pretty quickly. The package will be paid out after Negreanu finishes his last event of the summer.
Negreanu has put forward an ambitious schedule that will see him go in search of his eighth bracelet this summer. You can read all about it below.
Negreanu’s stake will be released in two tranches: the first 12% at 2pm ET on Wednesday, May 14, followed by a second at 9pm. If you want a piece, we recommend preloading your PokerStake account ahead of the 2pm drop.
