The countdown to the 2024 World Series of Poker is on. Each day until the start of the series on May 28, we'll bring you tips and insider info from some of the biggest names in the game.

Veronica Brill is, in her own words, 'Silicon Valley's premier low budget data scientist and mid-range tournament min-cashing specialist'. She is also host of the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Cash Game. Follow Veronica on X.

What's the best way to prepare for the WSOP?

Oh, you mean aside from stocking up on caffeine, IV drips, and hiring a team of masseuses to work out those inevitable neck cramps from hours of intense staring?

Well, how about practicing your poker face in the mirror so you can show your Uber driver when he inevitably asks you if you have one?

What event are you most looking forward to?

Oh, definitely the PLO8 events because who doesn't love the thrill of trying to split or quarter a pot two to four ways, while desperately clinging to the faint hope of not ending up with the worst high hand and the worst low hand simultaneously? It's like playing two games at once, but with double the frustration and quadruple the confusion!

On a side note, the ladies event is the best WSOP event.

What advice do you have for women who have never played the WSOP before?

Advice for women at the WSOP? Easy: just show up, dominate the tables, and don't waste a single brain cell worrying about what the guys think. Who cares about their opinions anyway when you're busy stacking chips higher than their egos.

How will you deal with a new, improved and wealthier Shaun Deeb at the WSOP?

Well, I'll just make sure to pack my sunglasses and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. Can't risk being blinded by the glare of his shiny new ego deafened by the sound of him bragging about his 'transformation'.

I'm pretty sure that losing weight will make him even more insufferable.
