On Thursday, WPT Global and Triton Poker announced a new partnership which sees the site become the official sponsor of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series. The mutually-beneficial move ushers in a new era of growth for Triton Poker SHRS as the tour continues to cement itself as one of the world's premier high stakes poker tournament series.
While the steep buy-ins at Triton events tend to preclude the majority of players, WPT Global will expand the tour's accessibility by offering exclusive opportunities to qualify for events, allowing for players of any bankroll size to rise to the level of one of poker's most prestigious tournament circuits.
As part of the partnership, WPT Global will introduce the $25,000 WPT Global Slam, a tournament that will take place at each Triton Poker SHRS in the upcoming season. Additionally, the partnership will bring exclusive qualifying events to the WPT Global platform, enabling a broader player pool to earn their seats in Triton Poker events.
