The World Series Of Poker has broken new ground again this year. Most of the world is battling it out on GGPoker for the international leg of the WSOP Online. Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, the WSOP awarded its first-ever bracelet in the Keystone State.
The tourney was WSOP PA Online Event #1: No-Limit Hold'em Keystone Kick-Off. This Keystone Kick-Off event started yesterday, August 8, 2021.
The $500 buy-in event gathered 425 players and 75 rebuys for a pleasingly round 500 entries. After the rake, this made for a prize pool of $225,000.
Unlike the WSOP events held on GGPoker, the PA events did not require players to provide their real names. As a result, all we know of the winner is that they go by “ratrivers” online.
"ratrivers" took all the cheese after two days of play. They won $48,420 for their first-place finish. They also will be getting the first-ever PA-based bracelet via FedEx in the next few days.
The WSOP tweeted about the event, writing: "The PA 2021 Online Bracelet Series is HERE. This is your shot to become a WSOP champion and win a Gold Bracelet."

What else is coming from the WSOP PA?
There are 8 events total in this year's WSOP PA series. Event #1 is over. Event #2 is underway. However, still to go are six more events including the No Limit Hold'em PA Championship.

The series is one of four WSOP bracelet series this year. There's an online U.S. series for New Jersey and Nevada, an international online series on GGPoker, the WSOP PA, and next month (COVID willing) the live WSOP in Vegas.
This does not include the various WSOPC ring events and the possibility of a WSOPE before the year is out. One could be forgiven for wondering whether or not a WSOP bracelet is the prestigious trophy it used to be.
