US-only online series runs on WSOP/888 network throughout September

What would have been the 51st edition of the World Series of Poker didn't go off as planned this past summer. U.S. players, however, can celebrate the 50th anniversary of the world's biggest poker festival with an online series in September.

The WSOP 50th Anniversary Series runs Sept. 8-27 on the WSOP.com and 888poker network of U.S. platforms. Players in Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware can access the 50-event series from anywhere within the borders of those states.

The 50-event series kicks off with a trio of tournaments Tuesday. The biggest of those opening-day offerings comes as a $1,000 buy-in 8-Max NLHE tournament (Event #2), with a $125,000 prize pool.

Also included in the schedule is a daily $15,000 guaranteed WSOP 50th Warm Up Turbo Deepstack, giving players 20 extra events to register for in the three-week series.

Series culminates with $505,500 guaranteed Main Event

The 50-event WSOP series offers more than $3 million in guaranteed prize money. The biggest guarantee across the series comes in Event #47 - $505,000 Main Event. The $555 buy-in tournament begins Sept. 27 as a 3x re-entry event.

Another big guarantee comes in Event #14 - $150,000 NLH Sunday Special. That $320 buy-in, 1x re-entry event commences Sunday, Sept. 13. That same day also offers a $100,000 guarantee NLH High Roller, at a $1,500 entry price point.

Most of the events on the 50th Anniversary Series schedule play as no-limit hold'em events. Per the WSOP tradition, however, the tournament slate offers a few other poker variants as well.

The Sept. 8 opening-day schedule features Event #3 - $15,000 Limit Hold'em with a $215 buy-in. Sept. 13 sees Event #13 - $20,000 PLO Special, offering that Pot-Limit Omaha event at a $100 buy-in.

Event #17 - $10,000 PLO8 runs Monday, Sept. 14. A pair of knockout events appear on the schedule as well, with the $100 buy-in Event #34 - $25,000 Knockout on Sept. 21, and the $300 buy-in Event #50 - $30,000 NLH Knockout closing out the series Sept. 27.

Sept. 27, the final day of the series, also offers Event #48 - $50,000 PLO High Roller and Event #49 - $100,000 NLH High Roller, with both of those tournaments coming at a $1,000 buy-in.

Big year of online tournaments continues for WSOP US network

The postponement of the 2020 World Series of Poker didn't mean U.S. players couldn't compete for WSOP bracelets. The COVID-19 pandemic shut down the traditional version of the WSOP (for now), but WSOP.com responded with a series of 85 bracelet events, labeled the 2020 WSOP Online Bracelet Events.

The WSOP US network operated 31 of those events throughout July, offering players in Nevada and New Jersey the chance to add a bracelet win to the resume. The WSOP 50th Anniversary Series opens up the schedule to Delaware players as well.

The WSOP 50th Anniversary Series can be played on WSOP.com Nevada, WSOP.com New Jersey, 888poker New Jersey, and the 888poker network of Delaware poker sites (Delaware Park, Dover Downs, Harrington).
