Poker players are tough to shop for, and a lot of gift guides already exist for chips, tables, cards, and other necessary tools of the game.
But what do you get for that poker player who already has everything? Maybe you bought the chipset last year, and a poker table the year before that. So, what's next?
If the poker player in your life has got you stumped, we’ve got you covered. Here are a few ideas for any occasion:
Original poker art
Original art is an overlooked gift in any genre, and you can find a lot of great showpieces for any poker fan. Options are many — from classic interpretations of Dogs Playing Poker to sought-after original work by poker’s best photographers. We let you download hi-res player shots for free that you can print and frame yourself.
Contact your favorite photographer to get a special winner's photo print. If you are buying a gift for a player and they’ve been featured in a photo at a poker tournament, contact that photographer about obtaining a print, or the permission to print one, and have it framed. Avoid shopping sites that use poker photos without permission.
Other sites like Poker Photos Archive make some of the best pictures in the game available for purchase.
Vintage poker clothing
Ever since casinos have been offering poker tournaments, they’ve been making apparel for attendees to buy as souvenirs. Shirts, hats, and jackets can be found all over eBay for major poker events dating back decades, but the most popular item by far is the satin jacket from WSOP events held in years prior.
These jackets are almost always available on the popular auction site in a wide range of prices and conditions, but they’ve turned into a status symbol for players and hotshot media members who want to flex some disposable income.
If jackets are out of price range, there are plenty of hats and t-shirts that now pass as 'vintage' clothing.
Physical media
A lot of poker history has moved into the cloud, and most of poker’s great moments are available at your fingertips on streaming services like PokerGO. You can always gift a PokerGO subscription, but you don’t have to stop there.
A world of physical media is still available from poker’s heyday, which, luckily, coincided with the popularity of DVDs. You can find everything from The Bad Boys of Poker to vintage poker strategy with the legendary Mike Caro.
Get that poker player in your life the Phil Hellmuth DVD they never knew they needed. Who knows what will happen with the future of streaming, so help poker players preserve the history of poker (for better or worse) with a grab bag of wild poker DVDs.
Poker artifacts
Every poker player needs a great chipset, and we refer you to one of the many that can be found on Amazon and at your local Wal-Mart if you’re looking for something convenient. However, if you’re looking for chips, decks, and other casino artifacts you can’t find anywhere else, you’ll want to check out Spinetti’s Gaming Supply in Las Vegas.
Spinetti's has authentic WSOP decks dating back several years. Spinetti’s has been operating in the Arts District of Sin City for years, and they’ve become gambling’s de facto thrift store with everything from dice, chips, coin buckets, and even original tables from the world’s most famous casinos.
The retail shop also operates an online store that you can browse for hours.
