Super High Roller Bowl Europe Event #6: $100,000 No Limit Hold'em ended with Artur Martirosian at the top.
Just 30 players ponied up the $100,000 buy-in. However, there were an additional 5 rebuys, which made for a $3.5 million prize pool.
With the fields at this series so small, there were plenty of players back for another final table. In particular, Selahaddin Bedir had won Event #4: $50k NLH, beating Phil Ivey heads up. He also took second in Event #2 ($25k NLH).
The runup to the final table saw big name players fall. Among them were Michael Addamo (28th), Ali Imsirovic (23rd), Bryn Kenney (21st), Wiktor Malinowski (16th), and Phil Ivey (13th). Ivan Leow went out in 10th on the final table bubble.
Play continued until the money bubble broke. The remaining five players bagged their chips to come back on Day 2.
The final table
Day 2 saw Martirosian lead the way with more than twice the next biggest stack. He's a super high roller regular, so it was going to take quite a run of bad cards to knock him down a peg or two.
Those cards never came. One by one, the other players bowed out. First Viacheslav Buldygin, then Bedir.
Johan Guilbert managed to just outlast Bedir with a now-legendary pre-flop fold of A♦️K♦️ pre-flop against Martirosian. This allowed him to survive the large pay jump from 4th to 3rd, but then he went quietly to that good rail.
That left David Peters with 820,000 in chips facing Martirosian with 6,180,000.
With blinds at 20,000/40,000 and the ante at 40,000, that didn't leave Peters much room for maneuver. The result was an all-in fest. Peter doubled up quickly, then again, putting him into the lead for a while. By the first break the situation was thoroughly reversed with Martirosian down to around 1.9 million.
A triple barrel bluff got Martirosian back into the lead a few hands later. But with blinds still rising both players were forced to play more and more by the numbers.
By the 50,000/100,000 blind level, the chip lead had gone back and forth a few more times. During the final hand, Martirosian (4.7 million in chips) had Peters covered (2.3 million).
Martirosian shoved with the A♣4♦️ and Peters called with 7♣7❤️.
The flop came A❤️6♣3♦️, more or less sealing things up for Martirosian. The turn and river were the meaningless 8♦️ and 7♦️, giving Martirosian the victory.
David Peters won $910,000 for his second-place finish. The final table was streamed on PokerGo.
