Astedt adds a seven-figure score to an already huge week

Tuesday’s Sunday Five Million win gives Astedt two major titles already this week. He took down the PokerStars SCOOP $1,050 8-Max event on Monday, earning $85,430 for that win.

Astedt added a much bigger chunk to the bankroll the following day, earning his biggest career GGPoker cash with Tuesday’s win. The player went over the $9.5 million mark in career GGPoker earnings with the win.

The Swedish tournament crusher now boasts more than $31 million in combined online tournament earnings, according to the PocketFives database and GGPoker tournament records.

Astedt began Tuesday’s final table as the tournament chip leader, looking down at a final table roster that included some of poker’s fiercest competition. He outdueled Shawn Daniels (2nd - $821,689) in heads-up play, with high-stakes tournament fixture Jason Koon (3rd - $616,180) finishing third.

The $25,500 buy-in Sunday Five Million included zero weak links among the final nine. Other top finishers included Joao Vieira (4th - $462,070), David Yan (5th - $346,504), and Sami Kelopuro (6th - $259,841).

Rounding out the final table finishers were Sam Greenwood (7th - $194,853), Pedro Garagnani (8th - $146,119), and Wei Zhao (9th - $109,574).

Tuesday’s win came in Astedt’s 11th Super MILLION$ final table appearance. He stands as the all-time leader in cashes (20) and final table appearances in the Super MILLION$.
