PokerGO has announced that its PokerGO Tour season-ending championship is a go. The championship will begin on December 22, 2021, at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The $50,000 buy-in event concludes the year-long "Tour" -- a leaderboard construct that has accumulated results from various high-roller events (defined here as $10,000 buy-ins and higher), since January.
Besides PokerGO's own PokerGO Masters and PokerGO Cup events, results from several other tours and series are also calculated into the 2021 standings. The frequent Aria high-roller events also count in the PokerGO Tour standings, as do various events from the L.A. Poker Classic, Florida's Seminole Hard Rock, the Venetian, the U.S. Poker Open, the Wynn Millions, the Super High Roller Series (SHRS) Europe, the Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) VI, and of course the World Series of Poker and WSOP Europe.
The two-day championship ends on December 23, giving players who enter a chance to work the event into their holiday travel schedules. The event will allow players to re-enter a single time if they bust while late registration is still available.
Ali Imsirovic currently sits atop the leaderboard for the PokerGO Tour presented by Guaranteed Rate with 3,576 points. He's well ahead of second-place Michael Addamo, who has amassed 2,464 points. The top three finishers in the leaderboard chase will win $200,000, $100,000, and $50,000, respectively. The overall winner -- likely to be Imsirovic -- will see his name etched onto the leaderboard's lasting memento, the Guaranteed Rate Cup.
Championship participants to receive $1,000 appearance fee, no rake charged
In an attempt to wrap up the PokerGO Tour's first year with a bang, the late-December championship will dangle a couple of financial carrots in front of interested players. All players who take part will receive a $1,000 appearance fee, a rebate of sorts. The tournament itself will also be rake-free, meaning that all $50,000 of each entry will go into the prize pool.

The PokerGO Tour has also announced the lineup of Tour points-generating events for the first three months of the 2022 season. Those early-2022 stops include the PokerGO Cup, Super High Roller Bowl Russia, presented by Luxon Pay, and the U.S. Poker Open.
