PokerGO Tour majors return to live format for the first time since 2019
The widespread return of live tournament poker throughout the U.S. brings with it the return of one of the most prestigious series in the game.
The majors on the PokerGO Tour are back in action, with the U.S. Poker Open beginning today at the PokerGO Studio at Aria Las Vegas. The high-stakes tournament series forms one leg of the “majors” on the tour, which also include the Super High Roller Bowl Las Vegas, the Poker Masters, and the PokerGO Cup, a new major introduced for 2021.
The 2021 U.S. Poker Open rolls out the most extensive tournament schedule in the history of the series. This year’s series sees 12 high-stakes events play out from June 3-15.
The first of those 12 tournaments begins today, with Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em kicking off at noon local time. Like all of the events on the U.S. Poker Open schedule, Event #1 plays down to a final table today, with the action reconvening the following day.
All final tables across the series will be streamed on a short delay at PokerGO.

Big money and the Golden Eagle trophy on the line
PokerGO introduced the U.S. Poker Open in 2018, with the series returning for a second run in 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancelation of the series in 2020, but the prestigious high-stakes tournament festival returns for a 2021 edition.
All tournaments in the series count toward the U.S. Poker Open leaderboard. The top player in the standings at the end of the series gets to claim the Golden Eagle trophy and an extra $50,000 prize.
Past U.S. Poker Open series leaderboard champions include Stephen Chidwick and David Peters. Considered almost universally by his peers as one of the best tournament players in the world, Chidwick dominated the 2018 U.S. Poker Open with two wins and five final table appearances.
David Peters won a close race for the 2019 leaderboard championship. Peters clinched the series title with a win in the $100,000 Main Event from the 2019 U.S. Poker Open, narrowly outpacing Sean Winter for the distinction of the best player of the series.
The high-roller regulars should be out in the masses for the U.S. Poker Open. The most recent stop on the PokerGO Tour, the Venetian High Rollers, saw fields that included Winter, Daniel Negreanu, Nick Petrangelo, Ali Imsirovic, Jake Schindler, Shawn Daniels, and PokerGO founder Cary Katz, among others.
