London, England, will certainly be the center of the poker tournament world in late July and early August, as the Triton Poker Series will make its first visit to London since 2019. The Triton Poker Series LONDON 2023 stop will run for a full 15 days, from July 27 through August 10, 2023.

The 15-day series will be held at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London's trendy Mayfair district, which is fast becoming the central hub for important poker events in London.

In a first-of-its-kind arrangement, the Triton series, which is dedicated to high rollers, will be running alongside the WSOP Super Circuit series in London at the same time. Not only are the Triton and WSOP Circuit series starting on the same date, July 27, they're being held at the same facility, the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in Mayfair. (The WSOP Super Circuit stop runs three days longer than Triton's series, ending on August 13.)

While the Las Vegas scene epitomizes the way competitors can cluster their series for mutual benefit, this appears to be the first time that two major live operators have set up competing series under a single roof. Triton and the WSOP have not done any co-promotion of the twin London series to date, but that doesn't mean that something unique might happen as the two series approach.

Triton series includes £200,000 Luxon Pay Invitational

The Triton Poker Series LONDON's 15-day schedule includes 17 events with buy-ins between £20,000 and £200,000. The series kicks off with a GGMILLION$ event on July 27, and its £100,000-entry main event begins on August 5. Most of the Triton events are no-limit hold'em, though PLO and short-deck also appear, and most of the events are also somewhat short-handed, with 7-seat and 8-seat tables the norm.

The main event's start on August 5 follows the £200,000 Luxon Pay Invitational, which begins two days earlier, on August 3. As Triton explains, "The Luxon Invitational is a unique £200,000 NLH buy-in that features affluent VIPs and poker professionals battling for prize money and the coveted title and trophy.

"Powered by Triton Poker Series, the invitational was inspired by the record breaking Triton Million that took place in London in 2019 where prominent VIPs and poker pros will play the first eight levels separately, then converge to battle against each other to a winner."

As with other Triton invitationals, the VIP players are allowed to invite one pro each to participate. Four VIPs have already signed up and made their invites. Rob Yong has invited Doug Polk, Dao Minh Phu has invited Michael Soyza, Santhos Suvarna has invited Seth Davies, and Seth Gottlieb has invited Nick Petrangelo. More VIP/Pro pairs will be announced at a later date.
