PokerStars is beginning to push its Twitch coverage for the World Championship Of Online Poker. The first events shuffle up and deal on Sunday, August 22, 2021.
The first event coverage begins the day after that with live coverage of the final table of WCOOP 04-H — the $5,000 buy-in high roller event.
Each day's broadcast—with the exception of the first day—will start with a "Replay" stream of an event from the day before. SCOOP champion Mason Pye and poker-streamer G. J. Reggie will host The Replay stream. The Replay stream will act as a warm-up for the day's main broadcast.
The main broadcast each day is the Live Coverage section of the stream, hosted by Joe Stapleton and James Hartigan. The schedule for the Live Coverage is made up of (mostly) high-stakes hold 'em final tables.
PokerStars tweeted the full broadcast schedule earlier today.
"Check out the #WCOOP streaming schedule," the @PokerStars account tweeted. "Live streams hosted by @J_Hartigan@Stapes + special guests on #twitch and #YouTube. The final table replays with @pyefacepoker & @GJReggie on Twitch.
Watching WCOOP
This year's WCOOP is made up of 102 nominal events. Almost all of these events come with a High, Medium, and Low-stakes tournament making for 300-ish tourneys crammed into four and a half weeks.
It's a hectic schedule. Naturally in an event this big, only a small percentage of the events will be getting the live stream treatment. We'll see mostly High Stakes no-limit hold'em tables. But the Replay streams will catch some of the smaller, mixed, Omaha, and stud events.
Joe Stapleton, who has been in the news lately for his part in Paul Schrader's new flick, tweeted about his excitement. "Apparently this year it's the WORLD Championship of Online Poker and not the Winter Championship of Online Poker, but whatever, we're streaming it," Stapes wrote.
He also talked about a series of warm-up streams which will be taking place ahead of the WCOOP proper. You can catch all the footage over on the PokerStars Twitch channel.
