Event #37 of the 2021 WSOP is the $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em (Freezeout) tournament. This one-day event played through to its completion on October 19 with 20-minute blinds. $500 of each player’s buy-in served as that player’s bounty during the tournament and were rewarded to the player who eliminated them.
The event came to a close yesterday with Karolis Sereika, yet another first-time bracelet winner, standing on the podium. This was a high-speed Texas hold’em tourney where blinds basically doubled for every hour of play. It still took nearly 13 hours to slog through the field of 1,441 entries.
Each player had a $500 bounty on them. The rest of the cash went into the prize pool, bumping it up to $1,203,235 once rake was taken out. An additional $720,500 in bounties was in play.
The 2019 $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty event drew 1,867 total entries to generate a prize pool of $2,520,450. Jonas Lauck outlasted the field for his first WSOP bracelet and $260,335. The tournament took 15.5 hours to finish up in one day.
