It's nearly "Go!" time for the latest assortment of desirable World Series of Poker golf bracelets to be awarded to international online players, as the latest WSOP Online series, hosted on GGPoker, is set to begin on August 20. Thirty-three coveted bracelets will be awarded during the series' six-week run, which stretches throughout all of September and the first two days of October.
When we last checked on the upcoming WSOP Online series earlier this month, the full schedule and headline events for the series had just been released. The complete structures and other details, such as the schedule of events for the supporting mega-satellites and "Step" qualifiers, were still under wraps.
Now, those additional elements have been completed and made available, and the full array of offerings for the WSOP Online festival are now accessible within GGPoker's global online client. Hundreds of satellites, step qualifiers -- and of course, the bracelet events themselves -- are now fully accessible and available for registration.
Even the "Continental Freerolls" detailed in our earlier piece are now available in the client, one that corresponds to each of the 33 bracelet events. Of course, we won't know until those bracelet events have played out to see which continent's players have made it into the freeroll for a given event.
The first few satellites and mega-qualifiers have already begun as well, and so has the first play-in Day 1 flight for one of the showcase bracelet events early in the series, the $210 Mystery Millions $1M Top Bounty, Event #7 on the slate. The official start of that event as listed is August 28, but that's actually for Day 2 of the event.
Until then, and even now, before the official start of the WSOP Online series in five more days, Day 1 Mystery Millions flights are running. The Mystery Millions Event #7 carries a $10 million prize-pool guarantee, too, tied for the second largest of the series.
It's not quite full bore yet, but it's getting close. With the in-advance satellites and steps and the last of the Continental Freerolls, it's more of an eight-week series than six. And it's already underway at GGPoker.
