German high-stakes crusher adds a $317,740 first-place prize to the resume

The weekly Super MILLION$ High Roller on GGPoker continues to play out as perhaps the toughest regularly-scheduled weekly tournament in the world of poker. The latest edition of the $10,300 proved no different, with one of the world’s top tournament players taking the championship.

German high-stakes regular Ole Schemion took home this week’s title, winning $317,740 after coming out victorious through a loaded final-table field. Schemion started the day as a longshot to come out as the winner, entering final table play with just under 18 big blinds.

In a final-table lineup that included top-flight competition like Matthias Eibinger, Stephen Chidwick, ‘Nator’, and Sean Winter, Schemion managed to spin up that short stack, eventually coming away with the victory. Schemion outlasted ‘MrGambol’ (2nd – $246,440) in the heads-up battle as this week’s Super MILLION$ High Roller played to a finish Tuesday.

Schemion tops ‘MrGambol’ and Matthias Eibinger in three-handed play

Other top finishers included Eibinger (3rd – $191,139), as the Austrian pro and co-founder of Pokercode took home his latest six-figure cash. Eibinger started the day as the final table chip leader, with a commanding stack of just under 94 big blinds. ‘MrGambol’ was the closest competitor, with 56 big blinds.

At the time of his third-place elimination, however, Eibinger was looking up at both Schemion and ‘MrGambol’ in the chip counts. Eibinger’s final hand began with the blinds at 80,000/160,000 and Eibinger holding 6♠6 in the big blind.

Schemion opened to 320,000 from the button with A7♥, ‘MrGambol’ folded, and Eibinger quickly shoved for his 2,166,540 total stack. Schemion, who had Eibinger covered by a 2-to-1 margin to start the hand, made the call.

The runout fell J4K93, with Schemion’s turned heart flush ending the tournament run for Eibinger.

The resulted heads-up battle lasted just under 20 minutes, and the final hand played out at 100,000/200,000 blind levels. Schemion picked up KK♠ in the big blind, and the hand began with ‘MrGambol’ opening to 400,000 with 55 from the button.

Schemion three-bet to 1.2 million, and ‘MrGambol’ four-bet shoved over the top for just under 5.2 million. Schemion, with about a 2-to-1 chip advantage, made the call, with his pocket kings in dominant position.

The runout provided no help for ‘MrGambol’, as the board played out 79AT9 and clinched the tournament win for Schemion.

Another fierce final table for the GGPoker Super MILLION$ High Roller

Other top finishers in the Super MILLION$ High Roller included Stephen Chidwick (4th – $148,248), who finished in the top four in the tournament for the second straight week. Last week’s Super MILLION$ High Roller saw Chidwick come up just short of a win, settling for a second-place finish behind tournament winner ‘blakjak19’.

This week’s edition of the High Roller saw final table runs from Philippe DAuteuil (5th – $114,982), Brunno Albuquerque (6th – $89,180), ‘Nator’ (7th – $69,168), Winter (8th – $53,647) and David Miscikowski (9th – $41,608).
