Isaac Haxton

Isaac Haxton, born in 1988 in Syracuse, New York, discovered a natural talent for strategy-based games. In his formative years, he excelled at both chess and Magic: The Gathering – playing both games competitively before he even discovered poker.

In high school, Haxton was introduced to poker and he picked up the game quickly. While studying computer science at Brown University, Haxton's poker skills developed rapidly. After realizing the potential he had in poker, Haxton made the decision to take a leave of absence from college to pursue the game as a full-time occupation. Unlike many young players, Haxton had the full backing of his parents as he opted to leave the Ivy League behind and roll the dice on a life in poker. In the end, it was a gamble worth taking.

In 2007, Haxton finished runner-up in the World Poker Tour Championship at the PokerStars PCA Caribbean Adventure – announcing himself on the scene and notching an $860,000 score. Haxton also put in massive volume in the online poker arena around this time, playing under the moniker of 'philivey2694'.

After rapidly ascending to the highest level of poker, Haxton established himself as one of the sharpest minds in the game. With over $60M in career tournament earnings, Haxton's decision to walk away from Brown University has certainly paid off.

Despite dozens of deep runs in his early years, Haxton was widely considered to be one of the best poker players without a World Series of Poker bracelet. In 2023, he rid himself of that particular monkey by winning the $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller for $1,698,215.

Haxton also plays regularly on the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, competing against the best players in the world – to the tune of much success.
